100 John F. Kennedy Drive

By Katherine Booth

Sour smoke rings, laughter, and sweat

The tune thrums around us:

“Won’t you save me, San Francisco?”

The weight of the sky

Tethers us to the Earth

We sing along,

“Won’t you save me, San Francisco?”

As our vision kaleidoscopes before us

In these endless saccharin days

We call out,

“Won’t you save me, San Francisco?”
