Acquisitions Editor | Acquisitions Team

Acquisitions editors seek out submissions and encourage contributors to submit their work to Open Ceilings. This includes contacting email LISTSERVs, reaching out to professors, and presenting information about the magazine to classes, often in lecture halls. After the submissions window closes, the acquisitions team will begin editing past submissions to feature on our website. Acquisitions editors also have the option to participate in the copyediting process for the print magazine. Not only should this team have a strong grasp on craft knowledge and vocabulary, but it should be comfortable carrying out edits face-to-face and over the phone as polishing pieces for publication is an important and intimate service we provide to our writers.
